About the role

Box UK, an Investors in People Gold company, is looking for a versatile Head of People Services to support our growing team of talented individuals based in Central Cardiff. Using your solid generalist skills, you will maintain the day-to-day HR activities of the business and will support the Executive Team in shaping the People Strategy and driving this to make it happen.

About you

As Head of People Services and a member of the Box UK Management Team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the HR function. You will thrive on change, enjoy wearing many hats and be constantly looking for ways to improve and streamline processes.

You will be a people-person that builds relationships with all your colleagues, though you can be ever-so-slightly formidable when you must.

You will foster an environment based on trust and collaboration in order to engage and bring out the best in our dynamic team, while at the same time advocating policy and procedure.

You can put people at ease and advise employees and managers on a range of topics from basic employment law through to effectively managing performance.

As well as being organised and efficient, you have a creative flair and can draw inspiration from experience and best practice to keep our People Strategy innovative and inviting.

Key responsibilities will include…

  • Representing HR as a member of the Box UK Management Team
  • Creating, maintaining and advising on HR policy and procedure
  • End-to-end recruitment process management, including active candidate sourcing and relationship development
  • Facilitating and carrying out on-boarding, induction and performance review activities
  • Benefits scheme administration and advising on improvements
  • Developing the current L&D programme, owning budgeting, planning and coordination
  • People strategy creation and implementation
  • Driving initiatives such as Investors in People and Sunday Times Best Companies
  • Absence and capability management
  • Systems ownership for PeopleHR

We’re looking for you if…

  • You are able to demonstrate a depth of generalist HR experience
  • You’re happy to cover a range of HR duties, from administration to high level
  • Ideally you hold the minimum of a CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent
  • You have exceptional organisational and administrative skills
  • You are discreet and can effectively handle sensitive situations and information
  • You know how to use Microsoft Office & G Suite and embrace new technology, systems and tools
  • You can support and coach line managers on HR policies, processes and people management
  • You love the web and know a little something about how it works
  • You have a genuine interest in continually improving the employee experience
  • You see opportunities for improvement, streamlining & reorganisation and seize them
  • You are excited to work in a dynamic and proactive environment
